big ambitionsstrong opinionswill pick a fight if it isn’t right
Raghavi
The eldest daughter in her family, and on her mom’s side.
She came with big ambitions, strong opinions, and a willingness to pick a fight when something wasn’t right.
&
endless optimism“chill”
Mohan
The youngest in his family, and across his extended family.
He came with endless optimism and “chill” as his answer to almost everything, and actually lives by it.
THE FIRST DUET
It started with him saying,
You were awesome back there.
and her replying,
You weren’t so bad yourself.
THE REPRISE
Somewhere along the way, those first compliments became his
“I’ll support you in becoming the best at everything you want to do,”
and her
“You’re the best, cutest, most annoyingly smart thing ever.”
Clearly, one of us still knows how to form a sentence. The other is in love.
THE MENDING
He mends her.She mends him.
And he’s finally stopped saying “chill” because, no room for doubt, we’re
hot together.
✳
Opposites attract? Apparently.
FROM HER PODCAST ARCHIVE
“People should date their own type, not their opposite.”
Correction pending
She has a podcast episode to correct. She once declared on her podcast that people should date their own
type, not their opposite. The universe apparently took that as a challenge.

TENKASI · 8.96° N, 77.30° E · 2:00 PM IST
The sky above Tenkasi that afternoon. The sun was out, so nobody saw these stars, but they were all there. Altair sat almost exactly overhead, with Vega close by: the two lovers of the old legend, kept apart by the Milky Way. We liked their odds better.

All roads lead to Mandaikadu.
Everything we wish someone had told us about getting to the far south.
BY AIR
Thiruvananthapuram (TRV)
The nearest airport, about 70 km from Mandaikadu, roughly two hours by taxi. Tuticorin (TCR) is the other option, further away with fewer flights.
BY TRAIN
Nagercoil Junction
Direct trains from Chennai, Bengaluru and Mumbai, about 20 km from the wedding. Eraniel is a smaller station closer to Mandaikadu, about 7 km away.
BY ROAD
From Nagercoil
The engagement is about 20 minutes away, the wedding about 40. Add a little extra if your family’s “we’re leaving now” means “someone is still getting ready.”
WEATHER
The monsoon’s encore
Late November is the north-east monsoon: warm (25–30 °C) with sudden heavy showers. Pack an umbrella and shoes you don’t mind getting wet.
GOOD TO KNOW
Book early
Mid-November is also the start of the Sabarimala pilgrimage season, so trains and roads on the Kerala side get busy. Book tickets as soon as you can.
